Incorporation Naming

Each state requires specific name endings when incorporating a business.. For example, Vermont requires that your name contains the word "Corporation", "Incorporated", "Company", "Limited", Arizona allows the aforementioned including "Association" and Kansas requires the five already mentioned, or "Foundation", "Institute", "Syndicate" or several others. Most states allow abbreviations of the words as well in your name. To find out what words your state allows, check with the appropriate government office (usually the Secretary of State) or visit LegalZoom.
